Jessie Breland Miller

Mrs. Jessie Breland Miller, 81, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday morning, February 25, 2022, at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

Born November 30, 1940, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Presley Breland and the late Nellie Pellum Breland.  Mrs. Jessie adored children and worked for countless years at the former Little World Daycare which was located on the Bells Highway in Walterboro.   She was a lifelong member of Black Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro, where she worked with the Youth, was a member of the church choir and the Women’s Missionary Union and served in many areas of the church’s work.   Jessie possessed a most beautiful smile which was coupled by an even more beautiful spirit.  She was elegance and she was a true southern lady who loved with all that she had.

Surviving are: her husband, Mr. Terry Don Miller; a son, Andrew C. Spell, Jr. and his wife Erica; two daughters, Sherri Miller Newberry and her husband Mike and Terri Miller Stefanou and her husband Alex; two sisters, Betty Breland Wiggins and her husband Alford and Essie Breland Tumbleston; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Breland his wife Rosie; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Tumbleston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2022, from Black Creek Baptist Church, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro.   Interment will follow in the churchyard.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1 o’clock that afternoon in the church sanctuary.
