WALTERBORO Master Sergeant Jesse Earl Williams, United States Air Force (Ret.), age 75, of Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Friday afternoon, March 12, 2010, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Barbara Holand Williams.



A gathering of remembrance with military honors as provided by the United States Air Force will be held from 2 oclock until 4 oclock Wednesday afternoon, March 17, 2010, in the Stateroom of The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Walterboro Chapel. Mr. Williams will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.



Mr. Williams was born December 25, 1934, in Norfolk, Virginia and was a son of the late Robert J. Williams and the late Frances Miller Williams. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division from 1953 until 1958 before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he faithfully served until his retirement in 1977, having achieved the distinguished rank of Master Sergeant. During his time in service he saw action during the Vietnam Era. After his retirement from the service he went to work for the Charleston Housing Authority where he worked as a carpenter foreman until his retirement from that capacity. He possess

ed an avid love for the outdoors, always working in his yards and crafting wood.



Surviving are; three sons, Daniel Chetwood of Goose Creek, Robert G. Williams and his wife Suzanne of Summerville, and Mark Williams and his wife Michelle of Goose Creek; two daughters, Gwin Chetwood Resch and her husband Hank of Inman and Nan Ingersol and her husband George of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Billy Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister, Frances Aiken of Atlanta. There are seven grandchildren, Jared Resch, Brian Resch, Anthony Andrus, Jesse Williams, Sarah Spencer, Allen Andrus, and Victoria Williams that also survive along with longtime loving friends, Mrs. Mae Davis and Mrs. Cecilia Tolley. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Spencer.
