Mr. Jesse Paul Westbrook, 76, of Walterboro, died Sunday morning, February 8, 2009, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.



A memorial service will be conducted Saturday evening, February 14, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the service until 8 oclock at the funeral home.



Mr. Westbrook was born October 12, 1923, Hohenwald, Tennessee and a son of the late Leroy Westbrook and the late Bonnie Marie Chessor Oliver. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and was a retired employee from the Golden Gate Transit in California. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He will be fondly remembered for his love of Karaoke singing, working on his daughters truck with her, for working in his yard, and animals.



Surviving are: his wife: Mrs. Suzanne Bell Westbrook; three daughters, Kimmberly Marie-Westbrook Varnadoe and her husband Chet of Ruffin, Julie Marie Holmes and her husband Tim of Santa Rosa, California, and Sharon Lehane and her husband Dennis of San Mateo, California; and a son, Jeffry Westbrook of San Mateo, California; two brothers, Jimmie Westbrook and Jackie Westbrook both of Summerville; and a sister, Mary McCranie of Summerville. There are nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and four beloved dogs, Daisie Woof-Woof, Bandit, Princess, and Gordita that also survive.
