Peter Jerome Gosnell Jr., affectionately known as Jerry, age 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on January 16, 2024, after a short but valiant battle with cancer.

Born January 7,1970, in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Peter J. Gosnell Sr. and the late Betty Stanley Gosnell of Brunson, South Carolina and a graduate of Wade Hampton High School. He was a proud member of Hampton County for his entire life. He worked for the South Carolina Department of Transportation for more than 30 years, with the latter portion of his career serving as the Resident Maintenance Engineer. Jerry absolutely loved his job and the people he worked with. He was a faithful Christian man who worshipped at First Christian Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Lighthouse Church, always growing his relationship with Christ. Jerry was passionate about agriculture from a young age. He always had chickens, goats, pigeons and many other types of animals. He loved being outdoors, tending to his “farm”, and attending local chicken sales every weekend. He was a volunteer with the Brunson chapter of the Lions Club. Jerry was foremost, a very devoted family man. He was a loving husband to his wife, Karen and an adoring father to his daughters, Kayla and Charlotte. His family meant the world to him. Jerry was truly a good person, a loyal friend, and an honest man.

Surviving are: his wife Karen Ann Reap Gosnell; two daughters, Kayla E. Gosnell (fiancé Cody Matthews) of East Bend, North Carolina and Marianna Charlotte Gosnell of Hampton; Cindy Getridge Gosnell, mother of Kayla; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Reap Rovella (E.J.) and Amy Reap Lawlor (John); nephews, Lincoln and Landon Rovella; nieces, Genevieve Rovella and Josie Lawlor; Mother-in-law, Virginia M.
