Jerry Ferguson

Mr. Gerald Calvin Ferguson, known by all as “Jerry”, age 65, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Tuesday morning, May 19, 2026, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. He was the loving husband of the late Mrs. Christi House Ferguson.

Born October 30, 1960, in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Reverend Leon Calvin Ferguson, Jr. and the late Richie Poland Ferguson. Jerry was a devoted family man who took pride in his family and his work. Most of all he loved his wife, Christi. He was a nuclear pipe fitter and marine machinist for the United States Navy and took great pride in his contributions to the fleet and to his country. Jerry loved his family and always strove to be a big part of their lives.

He is survived by: his son Joshua Ferguson (Sarah) of Charleston; his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Ferguson; sister Brenda Evans of Branchville & several cousins, nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Richard “Little Ricky” Ferguson, Donald Ferguson, and Shirley F. Frazier.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions in his memory to the following: The American Red Cross or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30pm Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2026, from Edisto Pentecostal Holiness Church, 24576 Augusta Highway, Cottageville. Interment will follow in Meeting House Cemetery located on Meeting House Lane in Cottageville. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 1:30pm in the church sanctuary.
