LENA- Sister Jennie Long DeLoach, 90, of Lena, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at her residence. She was first married to the late Allen Leroy DeLoach and secondly to the late Arthur DeLoach.



Funeral services will be held 11 oclock, Saturday, August 23 at Nixville Church of God of Prophecy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.



Sister Jennie was born August 9, 1918 in Furman and was a daughter of the late Grady W. Long, Sr. and Hannah Wooten Long. She was a retired seamstress from Estill Manufacturing. Sister Jennie loved her Lord and served Him faithfully. As a co-founding member of Nixville Church of God of Prophecy, she served as Church Clerk and Treasurer, Missionary Leader, Church and Grounds Caretaker, as well as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening and sewing.



Surviving are: her children, Voncile Shipes of Early Branch, Jeannette Crosby and her husband Everett of Early Branch, Geneva Jarrell and her husband Michael of Nixville, Ravenel DeLoach and his wife Robin of Ridgeland, Marvin DeLoach of Pineland and Daniel DeLoach and his wife Mary of Lena; daughter-in-law, Betty Murray DeLoach of Charleston; step daughter-in-law, Mildred DeLoach of Varnville; step son-in-law, Lavern Williams of Crocketville; brother, Grady Long, Jr. of Hampton; sisters, Addie Mae Tuten of Lena and Thelma Bowers of Charleston; two that she loved as daughters, Darlene Bowers of Nixville and Brenda DeLoach of Tillman; 27 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Rogers DeLoach; a daughter, Willodeen Myrick; step-son, Bernard DeLoach; step-daughter, Carolyn Williams; grandsons, Johnny Myrick and Jamie Adams; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Williams.
