Jennie Breedlove

RUFFIN " Mrs. Jennie Ruth Breedlove, 83, of 655 Chassereau Road, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, October 21, 2009 on her family farm. She was the widow of Benjamin Andrew Breedlove, Sr.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Ruffin Baptist Church, Double Churches Road, Ruffin. Interment will follow in Doctors Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Doctors Creek Road, Walterboro.

Mrs. Breedlove was born July 25, 1926 in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Bratus Gary Chassereau and Queen Victoria Bennett Chassereau. She was a retired seamstress from Walterboro Dress Plant. She was a lifelong and oldest member of Ruffin Baptist Church, which her father, mother and sister were charter members. She was a member of Women Involved in Rural Electrification, a Relay for Life volunteer, a Happy Home Flavoring Representative, and also sold many things to raise money for various causes. She was a wonderful Southern cook, especially her apple and pumpkin pies. Next to her husband, her family farm and the work she devoted to it was the love of her life.

Surviving are: her children, Benjamin Andrew Breedlove, Jr. and his wife Christine of Walterboro, Patricia Lynn Calhoun and her husband Wendell of Prosperity and Virginia Dean Padgett and her husband Harry of Ruffin; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
