Jenell Crosby

Mrs. Jenell Moore Crosby, affectionately known by many as Nell, age 66, of 1284 Peniel Road, Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest Saturday morning, August 29, 2009, following an extended illness at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. Oscar Arthur Crosby, Jr.



Funeral services will be conducted 4 oclock Tuesday afternoon, August 31, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend James Day officiating. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 4931 Black Creek Road, Walterboro.



Mrs. Crosby was born June 17, 1943, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Leroy Moore and the late Florence Hill Moore. She was a retired tax preparer from Walker Accounting and Tax Service in Walterboro. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Walterboro where she was formerly active in the Ladies Circle. She will be remembered for her love of camping at the Santee Lake as well as her avid attendance to her grandchildrens ball games always being their biggest fan.



Surviving are: a daughter, Sharon Crosby Broach and her husband Mark of Yemassee; and two sisters, Doris Hiers and Vennie Lyons both of Walterboro. There are three grandchildren, Ronnie Broach of Walterboro, Ryan Broach who is stationed on the Air Force Base in Japan, and Kimberly Broach of Yemassee; as well as her caretaker and friend, Darla Beach. She was preceded in death by a son, Oscar Arthur Artie Crosby, III and a daughter, Lynn Crosby.
