Jefferson Van Robertson

November 10, 1931 — January 20, 2012

Mr. Jefferson Van Robertson, 80, of Walterboro, affectionately known as "Pops", entered into eternal rest Friday, January 20, 2012 at Colleton Medical Center.

Mr. Robertson was born November 10, 1931 in Smoaks and was a son of the late Richard Govan Robertson and Ruby Mae Robertson. He was a plumber and avid fisherman, but will be remembered most for the love he had for his family and friends.

Surviving are: his children, Debi Mitchell and her husband John of Warrior, Alabama, Robert "Buddy" Johnson and his wife Nancy of Bluntsville, Alabama, Mickie Rizer and her friend Marshall King of Bennett's Point and Dee Dee Bliss of Cullman, Alabama; brothers, Harold Robertson and his wife Della of Walterboro and Larry Gene Robertson and his wife Evelyn of Smoaks; sister, Evelyn Newman of North Charleston; grandchildren, Andy Blocker and his wife Libby, Brandy Kirk and her husband Ian, Chris Blocker, Derrick Rizer and his wife Jennifer, Dwayne Rizer, Timmy Bliss, Tommy Bliss, Crystal Johnson, Robert "Buckwheat Johnson, Jr., Kelsie Johnson, Wesley Johnson and Charity Bliss;and great grandchildren. Amber Blocker, Jeremiah Knight, Dianna Rizer, Derrick Rizer, Jr., Aiden Blocker, LB Johnson, Jakob Graves, Hallie Graves and Lynlee Sims. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Sue Brooks Robertson; and a grandson, David Rizer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 pm at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro; 843.538.5408; www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com.
