Mrs. Jeanne Sanders Bishop, 84, of Lodge Highway, Smoaks, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 8, 2013 at MUSC in Charleston.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Thursday, September 12, 2013, at St. Johns Baptist Church, Ehrhardt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10 until the hour of service at the church.

Mrs. Bishop was born October 20, 1928 in Statesboro, Georgia and was a daughter of the late Leon Sanders and Ethel Bennett Sanders. She was a graduate of Limestone College and was a member of Little Swamp United Methodist Church. Her love of children lead her to be a grammar school teacher for over 35 years. Mrs. Bishop was known for her caring and generous heart, as she gave to many charitable organizations such as Love for Children, as well as several local churches. She was also an avid reader. A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, she centered her life around the family she cared for so dearly.

Surviving are: her husband of 63 years, Malvin Omega Bishop, Sr. of Smoaks; sons, Malvin O. Bishop, Jr. of Smoaks and Shawn Sanders Bishop and his wife Lisa of Conway; grandchildren, Gabriel Bishop, Connor Bishop, and Alex Bishop; sister, Frances Nalvin and her husband Bob of Jacksonville, Florida; nephew, Scott Nalvin and his wife Kimberly; and a niece, Janice Wayne and her husband David. She was predeceased by a nephew, Brian Nalvin.
