Ms. Jeanette Kicklighter Valentine departed this life peacefully on Monday, July 20th, 2026, at the age of 68. A resident of Walterboro, South Carolina, Jeanette was a cherished member of her community and a beloved family member and friend.
Jeanette was born on Tuesday, October 1, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida and was a daughter of the late Roland Kicklighter and the late Vera Nettles Kicklighter.
Devoted to her work, Jeanette served as a sorter for many years for Palmetto Goodwill in their Walterboro Location. Her dedication and hardworking spirit were evident in everything she did as she was always willing to lend a helping hand and brighten the workplace with her kindness.
Family and friends will remember Jeanette as a person who lived her life with grace and authenticity. She was a source of joy and comfort, her presence a calming and encouraging force for those she held dear. She will always be remembered for her love of fishing, camping, traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains and playing cards with her family. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and humor leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those she knew.
Surviving are: her son, Ray Valentine (Jessica); her niece and caregiver, Marlene R. Cook (Ralph), a beloved niece, Julie Crosby (Tommy); great nephews that she loved as her sons, Royce Stanfill (Abby) and Travis Cook; a great niece, Jennifer Crosby; special children in her life, Liam, Webb, Uriah, Eden, Noah, and Ellie Hale; and her best friend, Rosie Odum. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Hank; and precious cat, Daisy.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have expressed their support and condolences during this difficult time. Plans for a memorial service to celebrate her beautiful life are being made and friends may contact a family member for details.
