Mr. Jason Corey Mason, 32, of Bluff Farms Plantation in Yemassee, entered into his state of eternal rest Tuesday morning, August 3, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Agape Hospice.



Funeral services will be conducted 4 oclock Thursday afternoon, August 5, 2010, from Peniel Baptist Church, 37 Forks Road, Islandton, with The Reverend Tom McJunkin and The Reverend Terry Hiers officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.



Mr. Mason was born April 6, 1978, in Savannah, Georgia and was a son of Maxie Ray Mason and Gail Able Jolly. He was a graduate of Horry-Georgetown Technical College where he received his degree in Forestry and was the manager of Bluff Farms Plantation in Yemassee. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church where he was active and always willing to serve his church in the areas of need of the churchs work. Corey loved the outdoors as well as hunting and farming. He had extensive admiration and knowledge of tractors and fire arms, and will be fondly remembered for the love he possessed for his family, children, and grandchildren.



Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Samantha Thames Mason; his father, Maxie Ray Mason of Ridgeland; his mother, Gail Able Jolly and her husband Cullie of Ridgeland; a daughter, Shenan Varn and her husband Philip of Lodge; and a son, Jay Varnadoe who is stationed in Virginia with the Armed Forces; a brother, Patrick Shane Mason and his wife Marie of Ridgeland; and a sister, Jeannie Jolly Bellflower and her husband Joey of Ridgeland. There are two grandchildren, Sophie Lee Varn and Philip Colin Varn, Jr.; along with his grandparents, Helen Able of Ridgeland and Alice Jolly of Ridgeland; his parents-in-law, Jody and Margaret OQuinn Thames of Early Branch; and his grandmother-in-law, Lizzie Lee Thames of Allendale.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, the family has respectfully requested that a memorial contribution be directed in his memory to a trust account which has been established in Coreys name at South Carolina Bank and Trust, which can be done through any of their locations.
