Mr. Jarrett Oddett Rentz, 58, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday morning, April 28, 2025, at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.
Born May 25, 1966 in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Jacob A. Rentz, Sr. and Judy Grayson Crunk. He was an avid outdoorsman and a man of many talents. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as Papa-Bear and he married the love of his life, Tammy, on April 27th, 2014. He will always be remembered for the love he had for farm life and his beloved Mustang horse, Sally.
Surviving in addition to his parents are: his wife, Tammy T. Rentz; a son, Joshua J. Rentz; a daughter, Melissa Rentz; step-daughters, Tracey Maness (Chuck) and Candace Crosby; five grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt, Elana, Mackenzie, and Briar; a brother, Aaron Rentz (Diane), Samuel “Sam” Rentz (Resa); and a sister, Jennifer Lee (Arthur) as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Joanne Rentz; step-father, Jerry Crunk; and a brother, Perry M. Rentz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30am Friday morning, May 2, 2025, from the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in his memory to the Bank of Walterboro where a fund has been established in his memory.
