Janie Faulkenberry Crosby

Mrs. Janie Faulkenberry Crosby, 60, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Walterboro while under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina.

Born May 22, 1960, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Mrs. Verona Bazzle Faulkenberry and the late Mr. John Faulkenberry.   She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with her Bachelors in Education.  She worked a long and faithful career with the Colleton County School District where she retired as an Elementary and Kindergarten teacher from Bells Elementary School.   Education and teaching was her life.  Next to her family, her students and the lasting impact she had on their life was everything to her.  She loved people and will forever hold a special place in countless lives because of the sweet, caring, and tender person that she was.  She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church in Walterboro.

Surviving in addtion to her mother of Walterboro are: her husband, Mr. Roy Crosby; four children, Terance Crosby (Jesse Berleen), Jamie LeeAnn Crosby, Jenna Nicole Crosby, and Benjamin Trey “Cubby” Crosby (Patty) all of Walterboro; a sister, Tammy F. Hiott (Ricky) of Walterboro; and seven grandchildren, Charity Crosby, Corbin Crosby, Only Crosby, Brianna Banks, Sheldon Canaday, Ben Crosby, and Will Crosby.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Faulkenberry.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, June 10, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Pastor Jerome Hodge officiating.  Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Blvd., Walterboro.
