Janice Padgett

Mrs. Janice Jones Padgett, 79, of Hampton, passed away Friday evening, October 30, 2020 at her residence.  She was the widow of Mr. Ben Tillman Padgett.

Born November 17, 1940 in Blackville and was a daughter of the late Henry Winton Jones and Willie Lou Gray Jones.  She was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.  Mrs. Janice was an excellent cook and great person who dearly loved her family.

Surviving are: her son, Joel Kent Padgett and his wife Tracey of Hampton; grandchildren, Tillman Padgett and Nathan Padgett; niece, Vonnie O’Neal and her husband John of North Augusta; and nephew, Al Jones and his wife Jill of Charleston.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Ada McAlhaney and Rose Ellen Emmanuel; and brothers, Oscar Jones and Harvey Jones.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 o’clock’ Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Crocketville Cemetery.
