Janice Barnes Lemacks

Mrs. Janice Barnes Lemacks, age 45, of Walterboro, and departed this life along with her loving companion, Sidney Earle Beach early Sunday morning, September 11, 2016, in Walterboro as a result of injuries sustained during an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be conducted 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2016, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The Reverend Tim Soucy and The Reverend Rick Powell officiating.  Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Churchyard, 5277 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Born May 25, 1971, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Mrs. Paulette Bunton Barnes and the late Mr. Jackie Kay Barnes, Sr.   “Red” or “J.B.” as she was lovingly know by family and friends, was an artist in the kitchen.  She possessed a special gift with decorating cakes and was an excellent southern cook, known for many spectacular dishes.  She also loved fishing and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Walterboro Church of God.

Surviving are: her mother, Mrs. Paulette Bunton Barnes of Walterboro; a son, Trevor Allen Lemacks of Walterboro; two brothers, Jackie K. Barnes, Jr. (Kimberly) of Walterboro and Terry Barnes of Walterboro; and a sister, Tanya Barnes (Bubba Smyly) of Ruffin.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of many whom she considered family.   She was preceded in death by two children, Aaron James Lemacks and Sabrina Barnes; and her husband, James Edgar “Jimmy” Lemacks.

The family will be at the home of Jackie K. Barnes, Jr., 559 Bee Drive, Walterboro, South Carolina.
