Mrs. Janet Spell Baggett, 50, of 604 Fifth Street, Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Monday morning, July 12, 2010, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Thursday afternoon, July 15, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mrs. Baggett was born March 7, 1960, in Colleton County and was a daughter of Martha Stanfield Warren and the late Ben Thomas. For many years she was employed with the Kiddy Kollege in Walterboro and was a member of First Christian Church in Walterboro. At her church, she was a member of the Christian Womens Fellowship, was a former member of the church choir, and on many occasions was a soloist for special services. She possessed a talent at crocheting and sewing was one of her pastimes.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Orangeburg are: a daughter, Crystal Gayle Kalinowski and her husband Steve of Walterboro; a step-daughter, Renee Baggett of Dover, Delaware; two step-sons, Jimmy Baggett and Greg Baggett both of Walterboro; those who raised her as their daughter, John and Cathy Stanfield of Walterboro; two brothers, Billy Stanfield of Concord, North Carolina and David Spell; a grandmother, Louise Joyner Beasley of Walterboro; and a grandchild, Shiloh Michael Pettenger. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Stanfield.
