ROUND O " Mr. James Russell Youmans, 58, of Round O, entered into eternal rest Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2008.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 Thursday morning, July 24, 2008, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mr. Youmans was born April 10, 1950, in the Whitehall Section of Colleton County and was a son of Mrs. Odessa Hiers Youmans and the late Thomas Melvin Youmans. Before an accident which left him unable to work, he had worked for several years for Asten Hill and CCX in Walterboro. He was a former member of Jones Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an avid lover of animals. Rusty loved all wildlife, and truly enjoyed the simple pleasure animals could bring.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Yemassee are: his wife, Mrs. Carolyn McNair Youmans; a daughter, Bri Youmans of Round O; a step daughter, Karen D. Preston of Round O; two step-sons, James M. Stallings of Hanahan and Robert C. Tafta of Bangkok, Thailand; two brothers, Tommy Youmans of Glencoe, Alabama and Larry J. Youmans of Smoaks; and three sisters, Jan Thomas of Yemassee, Dianne Litchfield of Walterboro, and Connie Droney of Round O. There are six step grandchildren that also survive.
