James Walker

February 3, 1943 — July 10, 2015

Mr. James Reginald Walker, 72, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Hospice Center of Charleston.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.  Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Mr. Walker was born February 3, 1943 and was a son of the late John Calhoun Walker and Ludie Mae Barnhill Turner.  He was a retired Control Room Operator from the SCE&G Canady’s Plant and served his country in the South Carolina National Guard.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his wife of 51 years, Sharon Francis Walker of Walterboro; children, James Gregory Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, Bradley Scott Walker of Walterboro and Joy Walker Cook of Walterboro; grandchildren, Joseph Christian Pellum and Savannah Leigh Walker Cook, both of Walterboro; and brothers, Kenneth Blackwell and Jerry Blackwell, both of North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Walker; and a son-in-law, James Cook.
