James Livengood

ISLANDTON " Mr. James David Livengood, 67, of 11626 Sniders Highway, Islandton, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 5 oclock Sunday afternoon, July 19, 2009, at New Hope Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 until the hour of service at the church.
Mr. Livengood was born March 16, 1942 in Mooresville, North Carolina and was a son of the late John Avery Livengood and Juanita Hinson Livengood. He worked for Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Hilton Head Hospital in the security maintenance department. He also baked cakes for Steve Brown Catering in Beaufort. Mr. Livengood served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of New Hope Christian Church. He will be remembered for many things such as his love of music and gardening and for serving the Lord faithfully; but he will be most remembered for the love he had for his family and others, always a friend to everyone and trying to help anyone he could. His family knew him as the greatest dad in the world and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are: his wife, Audrey Collins Livengood; daughters, Candie Livengood of Beaufort, Lisa Livengood of Beaufort, Sharon Livengood of Islandton and Mary Kay Livengood-Barros of New York; sister, Brenda Kay Livengood-Ermi and her husband Ed of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother-in-law, Paul Collins of Islandton; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Collins of Chicago, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Avery Livengood, II.
