Mr. James Edward Dewitt, 75, of Walterboro, passed away Wednesday evening, January 27, 2021, at the Summerville Community Hospice House.
James was born November 4, 1945 in Colleton County; he was a son to the late Mr. Eugene Wesley Dewitt, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ellen Victoria Crosby Dewitt. For many years, Mr. Dewitt worked as a self employed television repairman and for many years the family’s farm as well. While working alongside his parents on the farm he would maintain all the equipment, cut, rake and bail hay and heard around cattle. In his years of working on televisions for the locals, he had an interest for reading and collecting mechanical technology magazines.
He is survived by his nephews, Mark Fisk, Glenn Fisk and Dennis Fisk all of Walterboro; and Chet DeWitt of Summerville.
He is preceded in death by: sisters, Ruby Fisk, Ruth Dewitt; a brother, Eugene Dewitt, Jr. and a nephew, Greg Fisk.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2021, at Tabor United Methodist Churchyard, 7186 Bells Highway, Ruffin.
