James Richard Basham

Mr. James Richard Basham, 60, of Walterboro, entered into rest Wednesday morning, July 13, 2016, at the Roper Hospital in Charleston.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born July 4, 1956, a native of Corpus Christie, Texas he was a son of the late Henry Basham and the late Rosemary Allison Snyder Basham. HE worked most of his life in retail sales. He was an active volunteer with the Disaster Relief Program in Corpus Christie, Texas until moving to South Carolina in 1999.
Surviving are: his wife of twenty-five years, Mrs. Starr Karen VanDorn Basham; a daughter, Ashlee; a son, Ken, four brothers, Mike, Steven, Sandy, and Roger; and three sisters, Deanna Fay, Judy, and P.J. There are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild that also survives.
