Mr. James Winfred “Wendy” Adams, 67, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Born January 12, 1957, in Hampton, he was a son of the late James Fred Adams and Erma Mixson Adams. He worked in construction and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Ridgeland.
Surviving are: his wife, Janice Zahler Adams of Varnville; children, James W. Adams, Jr. of Varnville, Frankie Adams of Ridgeland, and Joseph Zahler of Walterboro; brother, Charles “Bubba” Adams of Varnville; sisters, Nita Gooding (Billy) of Hampton and Dr. Shirley Dempsey, Chaplain of Hampton; sister-in-law, Janet Dempsey; aunt, Carolyn Hughes of Varnville; his dear friend, Nancy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, J.T. Adams.
Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2024, at Cornerstone Faith Church, 906 Third Street Northeast, Hampton. Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Pocotaligo Road, Varnville.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 at their home, 5284 Yemassee Highway, Varnville.
