April 25, 1934 - December 11, 2012

Mr. Francis Elton "Jack" Tuten, 78, of Bait Lane, Hampton, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at MUSC in Charleston. He was the husband of the late Irene Burch Tuten.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Nixville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery.

Mr. Tuten was born April 25, 1934 in Savannah, Georgia and was a son of the late Jesse Thomas Tuten and Frances Mock Tuten. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hampton. Affectionately known to many as "Barefoot Jack", he was an avid farmer who could grow anything, but especially loved to share what he grew with everyone. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving father and "Pappy" to all of his grand's and will be deeply missed by all that loved him.

Surviving are: his daughters, Jackie T. Godley of Hampton, Angie Ginn and her husband Timmy of Nixville, Mary Orr and her husband Al of Nixville, and Peggy Tant and her husband Pat of Nixville; grandchildren, Tommy Brunson, Misty Godley, Stephanie Fox, Tina Wingate, Brittany Ginn, Megan Tant, Bridgette Orr and Dylan Tant; great grandchildren, Kyle Brunson, Boe Brunson, Matthew Wingate, Caitlin Wingate, and Kamdyn Ginn; great great grandchild, Payson Tison; and many others that he loves as his own. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Tuten.
