Mr. Jace Douglas Shockley, age 32, of Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2017, from injuries sustained during an automobile accident in Walterboro.
A memorial celebration of his life will be conducted 6 o’clock Friday evening, March 17, 2017, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o’clock that evening at the funeral home.
Born September 27, 1984, in Evansville, Indiana, he was a son of Jack Douglas Shockley and Susan Sellner Shockley. Jace was a finisher at Pioneer Boats in Walterboro, but for many years, was a well-known face at Blocker Boys Customs in Walterboro, where he was known for his strong work ethic and great sense of humor. Jace loved music and was a talented guitarist playing at many local venues. He enjoyed fishing and poker, and will always be remembered for the love he possessed for his family.
Surviving are: his father, Jack of Lexington, Kentucky; his mother, Susan and her fiancé, Bob Garner of Evansville, Indiana; his fiancée, Ginny Hadwin of the couple’s home in Saint George; two children, Sheldon Kai Shockley and Ember Rose Shockley; and two sisters, Michelle Ann Lasson of Eldon, Missouri and Jill Shockley and her daughter, Paisley of Evansville, Indiana. He is survived by a grandfather, Edward Sellner as well as several numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
