Mr. Israel Mohamed Bodison, age 61, entered into eternal rest Monday afternoon, December 14, 2015, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, December 19, 2015, from the Walterboro Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1035 Dandridge Road, Walterboro. President Burley Black, Presiding. Interment will follow in Bodison Memorial Cemetery, Bodison Memorial Drive, Round O. The Repast will be at the church.
Public viewing will be held Saturday morning prior to the service in the church beginning at 10 o’clock.
Born December 30, 1953, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Joseph Bodison and the late Annie Cochran Bodison. He was employed by J.P. Stevens in Walterboro and will always be remembered for his love of baseball. He was a Freemason. He was a member and priest at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having been a faithful and dedicated part of the Walterboro Branch.
Surviving are: two sisters, Stephanie Stoney and her husband Lee of Beaufort and Marsha Cox and her husband Henry of Walterboro; a brother, Eddie Bodison of Yonkers, New York; an uncle, Curtis Bodison and his wife Vessie of Cottageville; and four aunts, Vernie Powell of Florida, Florrie Mae Hobbs of New York, Carrie Tillman of Pennsylvania, and Sarah Bodison of Green Pond. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as a loyal friend whom he thought of as a second father, Mr. Burley Black of Walterboro.
