Isaac Robinson, Jr.

May 12, 1962 — November 28, 2023

Hampton, South Carolina

While courageously awaiting his Lord and Savior's return, Isaac Tuten Robinson, Jr. fell asleep and was sent on to Heaven on Monday, November 28, 2023.

Born May 12, 1962, in Hampton, he was a son of Shirley Woods Robinson and the late Isaac Tuten “Penny” Robinson, Sr.  Isaac was a loyal husband, brother, uncle and friend to us all. Isaac grew up in Hampton County and attended Wade Hampton High. He was a three time All Conference player in football and baseball. He was elected and represented WHHS at Palmetto Boys State. He was also awarded the Robert F. Causey Award as an outstanding senior. He loved sports and had to have a trophy case made to hold his over 40 trophies. After his injury left him paralyzed, he never gave up his fight. Isaac went on to graduate from Charleston Southern University where he expanded his friendship to many others. Isaac personally was like a magnet to all. Once he called you friend, you knew it!

He married Joy Mixon Gamble in the eyes of his Lord and led a quiet lifestyle enjoying his friends and family. Isaac was always thinking of others with small gifts of gratitude. He took pride in his nephew's and niece's always cheering them on from the sidelines. But he was so much more to all of us. He never complained of his lot in life but lived life to the fullest as an example of strength and perseverance. While we will miss him, we will always treasure his time with us knowing his love lives on in us while he takes refuge in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Surviving are: his mother, Shirley Robinson of Hampton; his wife, Joy Mixson Gamble Robison of Varnville; brother, Marion Robinson and his wife Nancy of Bluffton; sisters, Veronica Moore and her husband Michael of Virginia and Rebecca Ginn of Hampton; nieces and nephews, Susan Davis, John Moore, Jacob Robinson, Jenna Robinson, Chelsea Ginn, Alex Robinson, and Joseph Robinson; three special aunts, Azilee Polk, Edyce Griffin, and Thelma Rowe and her husband Benny; as well as many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
