Mrs. Irene Rising Lake, 72, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 18, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 pm, Monday, July 20, 2015 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
Mrs. Lake was born June 6, 1943 in Wilmington, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Daniel Duncan and Edith Brown Duncan. She was a member of the Walterboro Church of God of Prophecy. Along with her first husband, the late Bishop Douglas M. Rising, she traveled and lived all over the world. Together they were missionaries in Germany and pastored churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan and Hawaii. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are: her husband, Donald Lake of Walterboro; children, Kirk Douglas Rising and his wife Sarah of Cleveland, Tennessee and Sherry Rising Black of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Carmin Black, Christian Black, Amanda Rising and Carlos Rising; step-children, Brenda L. Geddings and her husband Jesse of Manning and Wayne Lake and his wife Tammy of Walterboro; step-grandchildren, Samantha Geddings and Tyler Lake and his fiancé, Ashley Wiggins; and step-great grandchild, Jessica Joyce Geddings DeLeon.
