Mrs. Inez Moody McDonald, 82, of Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Wednesday morning, May 25, 2011, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. Elbert McDonald.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro, with The Reverend Wayne Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
Mrs. McDonald was born January 19, 1929, in Hayesville, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late The Reverend Elbert Moody and the late Ellen Hampton Moody. In her earlier years, she was employed with J.P. Stevens when the plant first opened in the Walterboro area. She was a homemaker and a babysitter. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her love of family. She was a member of Hazelwood United Methodist Church in Hazelwood, North Carolina where he father served as the Senior Pastor for many years.
Surviving are: a son, Larry Dean McDonald, Sr. and his wife Rhonda of Walterboro; a brother, Jimmy Moody of Gastonia, North Carolina; and three sisters, Christine Adams of Williston, Francis Palmer of Gainsville, Florida, and Mary Ann Robinson of Waynesville, North Carolina. There are nine grandchildren, Tammy Freidman, Danny Jordan, Deana Wiggins, Denise Urseth, Rodney Stephens, Dean McDonald, Bryan McDonald, Christopher McDonald, and Michael Shane McDonald; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded death by two daughters, Jeanette Cutter and Joyce Stephens; one grandchild, Bradley McDonald; three brothers, Ray Moody, Lawrence Moody, and Carl Moody; and a sister, Alma Cochran.
