Howard R. Waldrop, Jr.

Mr. Howard Robert Waldrop, Jr., 77, of Mashawville, entered into rest Monday morning, May 20, 2024, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.  He was the husband of thirty-eight years to the late Mrs. Melissa Kay Waldrop.

Born February 12, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of the late Howard Robert Waldrop, Sr. and the late Edna Waldrop.  Having resided in Memphis, Tennessee before making Mashawville home in 1992, he began a career in Sales with Walterboro Motor Sales where he was a beloved icon to our community and worked diligently until his retirement.  He was a member of Jacksonboro Baptist Church.

Surviving are: three children, Samantha Kizer (Dale) of Walterboro, Trey Waldrop of Mashawville, and Jordan Waldrop (Jennifer) of Walterboro, a sister-in-law, Becky Jones (Geoffrey), four grandchildren, Ashely Goettee, Evan Kizer, Tanner Kizer, and Ellie Waldrop; a niece, Katy (Sam); and a great nephew, Rowan.

A private graveside funeral service will be held with his family Friday in Jacksonboro Baptist Churchyard.
