Howard O'Dell, Jr.

Howard Berdette O’Dell, Jr., 66, of Smoaks, SC., entered into eternal rest Monday, October 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1957 in Tioga, Pennsylvania to the late Howard O’Dell, Sr., and Virginia Jean Schoonover O’Dell.

Howard, previously of Corning, New York, was a quiet man who kept to himself. He is remembered by his family as a loving and compassionate person who cared deeply for his children. He loved to go fishing and enjoy a Red Dog beer, woodworking, and even gardening.

He is survived by his son, Otto O’Dell of Florida; his daughter, Crystal Lynn of New York, his brothers, Terry Covell (Vanda), Forrest Wright (Annie), and Billy Joe Wright (Samantha); and a sister, Marjorie Van Dusen. Howard leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Freddy Myers and Gordon Green.

In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his daughter, Megan O’Dell; his brothers, Roger O’Dell, Max Schoonover, and Huey Wright.
