Mr. Howard Groves, 58, of 372 Industrial Road, Walterboro, died Monday evening, March 30, 2009, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.



Funeral services will be conducted 4 oclock Friday afternoon, April 3, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.



Mr. Groves was born February 23, 1951, in Colleton County and was a son of the late Ed Groves and the late Ruth Crosby Groves. For almost thirty years he was employed by CCX in Walterboro and had attended the Walterboro Church of God.



Surviving are: his wife of twenty-one years, Mrs. Della Lovette Groves; two sons, Shane Groves and Adam Groves both of the home; a daughter, Brittani Groves of the home; seven brothers, Gene Groves, Harold Groves, Richard Groves, Ralph Groves, Sammy Groves, Harry Groves all of Walterboro and Ander Groves of Islandton; and two sisters, Annie Ruth Eason of Chickamauga, Georgia and Mary Ann Marinaro of Des Moines, Iowa.



Flowers will be accepted or for those that wish, the family has suggested that memorials be directed in his memory to the following: The National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, or donate at: www.kidney.org; or to, Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
