Mr. Horace Hubbard, affectionately known as “Hubb”, was born in Robeson County, North Carolina on April 4, 1935. His life was interrupted after a short illness on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Lumberton NCU.
Horace was a “Jack of all Trades”, the Master of One. He was an amazing chef and was known from New York to Florida for his famous Hubb Subs. Born in the South, he left home at an early age to serve his country in the United States Army. After his service in the Army, he headed for the big city of New York where he told great stories about his first job as a taxicab driver. Later he was able to pursue his dream of becoming a truck driver. Mr. Hubbard also received his contractor's license with a specialty in air conditioning and heating.
Mr. Hubbard’s greatest accomplishments as he stated was his “family”. He leaves behind two daughters, Keisha Hubbard and Angela Hubbard; grandchildren, Kishon D. Ryan, Spencer M. Hubbard, Charles Brown and Chanell Brown; sons-in-law, Lee Ransom and Charles Brown; one surviving sister, Beatrice Watson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Monday afternoon, December 20, 2021 from 2 until 4 pm at THE BRICE W.
