Mr. Hezekiah Henry H.H. McMillan, 88, of Walterboro, entered into his eternal rest Wednesday evening, August 22, 2012, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was the husband of sixty years to the late Mrs. Ruby Grooms McMillan.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, August 25, 2012, from Welch Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor James Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Forks Road, Islandton.
Mr. McMillan was born August 28, 1923, a native of Colleton County, he was a son of the late Charles Hiers McMillan and the late Geneva Murdaugh McMillan. He was a retired fire fighter from the Parris Island Fire Department. He was a dedicated member of Welch Creek Church where he was faithful in his attendance and devoted to the needs of the church. At his church, he formerly a usher and member of the building and grounds committee. H. H. loved planting and tending to his garden and spending time in his yards.
Surviving are: two sons, Charles H. McMillan and his wife Doris Ann of Myrtle Beach and James Edward McMillan and his wife Sherry of Walterboro; a brother, James McMillan and his wife Joan of Islandton; and two sisters, Ronella Winchester of Islandton and Eurelle Lutz of Charleston. There are four grandchildren, Dennis McMillan, Tina LePere, Brian McMillan, and Chad McMillan.
