EARLY BRANCH-Mr. Heyward Tindal, 78, of 1306 Big Branch Road, Early Branch, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Hampton Regional Medical Center.



Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at The Brice W. Herndon& Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel with Reverend Gordon Ackerman and Reverend Fred Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in the Tindal Cemetery.



Mr. Tindal was born October 4, 1930 in Jasper County and was a son of the late George Tindal and Alice Tuten Tindal. He was a retired forester with Oakeetee Club Plantation and served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. His favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening and working at the church.



Surviving are: his wife, Deborah Tindal of Early Branch; daughter, Diane Gooding and her husband Rodney of Pinnopolis; sister, Marie Sauls and her husband H.B. of Kingstree; grandchildren, Harry Leggett, Ed Leggett, Fred Leggett, Charles Leggett, Greg Sauls and Peggy Bowers; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Melvin Tindal and Ronnie Tindal.
