Mr. Henry Casper Harbiston, Jr., 67, of New Port, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, North Carolina. He was the widower of the late Judith Copeland Harbiston.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Little Swamp United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Harbiston was born September 21, 1946 in Cottageville and was a son of the late Henry Casper Harbiston, Sr. and Arnell Lennon Harbiston. He graduated from Cottageville High School. He served his country faithfully in the South Carolina National Guard, retiring after 20 years of service. He then worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retired from Cherry Point Marine Naval Base. Henry loved fishing and woodworking, enjoyed drawing and was an excellent artist and also enjoyed bowling. He was a member of Harloe United Methodist Church and was also a Mason.

Surviving are: his children, Karen Stull and her husband Donnie of Albany, Georgia and James Henry Harbiston of New Port, North Carolina; sister, Elaine McLaine and her husband Terry of Walterboro; aunt, Mary Jo Strickland of Orangeburg; granddaughter, Rebecca Dianne Cercopely; great granddaughter, Danielle Marie Cardonia; one great grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
