Mr. Henry Benjamin Clark, 67, of 868 Brittlebank Road, Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Tuesday evening, August 24, 2010, at his daughters residence in Walterboro surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Winyah Hospice. He was the husband of the late Helen Louise Frasier Clark who died in 2008.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, August 28, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend John Harbin and The Reverend Jerome Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
Mr. Clark was born January 19, 1943, in Charleston and was the last surviving of eight children to the late Allen Benjamin Clark and the late Hattie Breaker Clark Spell. He served his country in the South Carolina National Guard and was a carpenter, mostly working for himself, but also having worked with Mr. Thomas Berry. He attended the Walterboro Church of God and will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing the local creeks of Colleton County, crabbing at Wiggins Landing, and playing a good hand of cards; as well as his love and talent of hosting many wonderful cookouts that were always enjoyed by family and friends.
Surviving are: two daughters, Lori Ann Smoak and her husband David of Walterboro and Lisa Marie Clark of Walterboro; and a son, Johnny Frasier of Wagner. There are five grandchildren; Trystan Smoak, Amber Stanley, Nathan Smoak, Ashlyn Stanley, and Kindall Rourk that also survive. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammie Annette Clark.
