Mrs. Helouise Wooten DeLoach, 101, of Hampton, entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, November 2, 2024, at Pruitt Healthcare of Estill. She was the widow of William Mike DeLoach.
Born February 7, 1923, in Nixville, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Wooten and Lettie Jean Hadwin Wooten.
Helouise was a devout Christian and has been a prominent member of First Christian Church of Hampton since April 17, 1960. She is lovingly remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and Sunday School Teacher – a true “Angel On Earth”, who loved everyone and was a friend to all. She loved her family, and her church family dearly. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, and was an excellent cook and baker.
Surviving are: her children, Carol Smith of Hampton, and Milton DeLoach of Hampton; a brother, Dean Wooten of Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her children, Betty Louise DeLoach and Louise Smith DeLoach; nine siblings; a daughter-in-law, Sonja DeLoach; and a son-in-law, Robert David Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Helouise’s name to First Christian Church of Hampton, 400 Holly Street West, Hampton, South Carolina, 29924.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at First Christian Church of Hampton, 400 Holly Street West. Interment will follow in Johnson – St. Paul Cemetery, Country Club Road, Hampton.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service starting at 10 o’clock in the church sanctuary.
