Helen Hiers Wall

Mrs. Frances Helen Hiers Wall, 90, of Charleston, entered into rest Wednesday evening, September 19, 2018, at the Life Care Center.  She was the wife of the late Alvin J. Wall.

Born August 26, 1928, a native of Ehrhardt, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Wilma Clayton Hiers.  She along with her late husband were Charter Members in 1960 of Fort Johnson Baptist Church.  At her church, she was active in many aspects of the church’s work.  She especially enjoyed preparing and hosting her annual Christmas Sunday School Class Social, taking great pride having the company of those she loved.    She always enjoyed working in her garden, and for many years cherished taking care of the neighborhood children in her home.

Surviving are: her children, Brenda W. Roughton (Bob Perkins) of North Charleston, Karen W. Buice (Ricky) of North Charleston, and Stanley Frank Wall of Richmond, Virginia; five grandchildren, Brian Roughton, Amber Buice, Monica Stacy, Heather Perkins, Jesse Perkins; and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Ehrhardt Cemetery, care of Gloria Copeland, Post Office Box 133,  Ehrhardt, South Carolina 29081.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, September 28, 2018, from Fort Johnson Baptist Church, 1473 Camp Rd, Charleston.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony beginning at 2 o’clock that afternoon in the church sanctuary.  The committal service will be held 11 o’clock Saturday morning, September 29, 2018, at the Ehrhardt Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Church Road, Ehrhardt.
