Helen Thigpen Owens

Mrs. Helen Thigpen Owens, 77, entered into rest Thursday, January 7, 2016, at her home in Brunson. She was the widow of Hoyt Carlton Owens, Sr. to whom she was married for 60 years.
Funeral services will be held privately.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 at their home, 5370 Prince William Road, Brunson.
Born April 10, 1938 in Lake View, she was the daughter of the late Joe Bruce Thigpen and Rachel Barrentine Thigpen. She worked beside her husband for many years at Owens Diesel Service in Hampton. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family.
Surviving are: five sons, Johnny Bruce Owens, Sr. and his wife Sharon of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, Hoyt Carlton Owens, Jr. and his wife Melany of Brunson, Larry Daren Owens and his wife Pat of Harleyville, Randy Eugene Owens and his wife Roxanne of Brunson, and Christopher Matthew Owens of Summerville; brothers, Bobby Thigpen of Summerville, Raymond Thigpen of Walterboro and Johnny Thigpen of Charleston. There are seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, J.B. Thigpen.
