Mrs. Helen Black, 83, of Mount Carmel Road in Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, January 31, 2009, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston. She was the widow of Mr. Henry Floyd Black.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Monday morning, February 2, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Smoaks Baptist Church Cemetery, 482 Lodge Highway, Smoaks.
Mrs. Black was born June 7, 1925 in Greenville, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Barker. She was a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church of Walterboro.
Surviving are: her two daughters, Ann Pellum of Simpsonville and Barbara English (Amery) of Charleston; three grandchildren, Gregory Pellum of Simpsonville, Jodie Fowler (Eric) of Pelzer, and Steven English of Charleston; and two great granddaughters, Andrea and Jessica Fowler of Pelzer.
