Hector Rene Cruz

Hector Rene Cruz, of Ridgeville, South Carolina entered into an eternal rest on August 25, 2018. Born on March 30, 1963 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Estebania Aviles of Waltham, MA and Miguel Cruz. Hector was an expert Auto Body Technician and superior Mechanic. Hector, as he was know by most, will always be remembered as a kind man whose smile could light up a room. He had a passion for working on cars with his son, listening to salsa music, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed going for long drives, hunting for thrifty treasures, spending time with his dogs Petey and Annabella, and tinkering with various projects. As of late, Hector built a life in the peaceful county lands of South Carolina. He centered his life around his family and friends and always lended a helping hand to anyone in need. Hector’s children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Hector’s kind spirit, passion for cars, and love of adventure will live on through them. Surviving are his children: Angel Rene Cruz and his wife Courtney of Raynham, MA; Amanda Lee Cruz Avant and her husband Matthew Avant of Saint George, SC; his two brothers Hector L. Cruz, Sr. of Milford, MA and Angel R. Cruz of Brockton, MA. There are three grandchildren, Jaxson, Mateo, and Laylah; and his former wife Dolores Rivera of Taunton, MA; and an extended hose of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call during a time of visitation from 4 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday, August 31st, at the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, MA. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, September 1st, at Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock in the morning at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 335 Main Street, Brockton, MA. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
