Hazel Brabham

Mrs. Hazel McMillan Brabham, 84, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday evening, December 3, 2022, at the home of her daughter under the care of Amedysis Hospice.  She was the wife of the late Roy Franklin Brabham, Sr. to whom she was married sixty-six years.

Born August 31, 1938 in Lodge, she was a daughter of the late Heber McMillan and Mamie Martin McMillan.  She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where she was a member of the church choir and served with the Food Bank Ministry. She was also a member of the PEP Club and H2U.  She loved reading and was a longtime Avon representative.  Mrs. Hazel was a devoted wife and mother who centered her life around her family.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.

Surviving are:  her daughters, Cynthia Williams and her husband Chris of Walterboro and Dawn Victoria Brabham of Walterboro; sister, Barbara McMillan Rhode and her husband Bobby Gene of Cottageville; brothers, Heber “H.M.” McMillan and his wife Brenda of Walterboro and Thomas McMillan and his wife Inez of Walterboro; grandchildren, Kelli Dellinger and her husband Matt of Mount Pleasant, Justin Williams and his wife Crystal of Walterboro, Anteus Autlav of Walterboro, and Rachael Johnson of Utah; great grandchildren, Owen, Adam, Kristen, Gavin, Emma, Hazel Pearl, and Coleman Pearl; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Franklin Brabham, Jr.; her daughter, Judith Hazel Broderick; and brother, William “Billy” McMillan.

Funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 2022, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 pm.
