Biography

Mr. Harvey Lee Cooler, 80, of Anna Laurel Road, Early Branch, entered into eternal rest Friday, October 19, 2012 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, George and Ruby Cooler.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, October 22, 2012, at The Spirit of Life Church in Varnville. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1 until the hour of service at the church.

Mr. Cooler was born June 4, 1932 in Hardeeville and was a son of the late Sam Otis Cooler and Susie Estell Brabham Cooler Harvey. He was a carpenter for Nettles Construction for many years and worked with Robert Graves Construction for 10 years. He was a machinist for Georgia Pacific, had helped build the Savannah bridge; and had also worked for Manning Trucking Company in Glasgow, Kentucky as a Fork Lift Operator and retired after ten years. He attended The Spirit of Life Church, was an avid fisherman, and was a member of the Senior Citizen's group in Hampton.

Surviving are: his children, George H. Cooler and his wife Ruby of Early Branch, Harvey C. Cooler and his wife Winona of Early Branch, Catherine C. Slowik and her husband Edward of Ridgeland, and Cecil L. Humbert and his wife Holly of Daufuskie Island; brother, Otis Johnny Cooler of Hardeeville; 21 grandchildren; and 48 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Clara Lucille Cooler and Dollie Mae Cooler.
