Harry Stutts

Mr. Harry Lee Stutts, 90, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday morning, September 1, 2014, at his residence. He was the loving husband of sixty-seven years to the late Mrs. Earleen Eva Doyle Stutts who was the light and love of his life.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Thursday morning, September 4, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interement with military honors will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.

Born September 30, 1923, a native of Colleton County, he was a son of the late Charlie Thomas Stutts and the late Lanie Roberts Stutts. He served our country faithfully in the United States Coast Guard as a Merchant Seaman during World War II and was a mechanic having retired from Burnside Dodge in North Charleston. He attended Bedon Baptist Church. Harry loved to travel and for nearly twenty years, he and his late wife resided in Avon Park, Flordia. He will be fondly rememebred for his love of fishing and football having been an avid Washington RedSkins and South Carolina Game Cocks fan.

Surviving are: three sons, Larry M. Stutts, Sr. of Reevesville, Jerry P. Stutts and his wife Susan W. of Florida, and Terry Lee Stutts and his wife Patty of Indiana; and a daughter, Deloris Stutts Morris of Lake Wylie. He is also surivived by twelve beloved grandchildren and their families; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry David Stutts; a dear friend, Pauline Burdette; three brothers, VonLehe Stutts, Walter Stutts, and Charlie Stutts; and three sisters, Rosalee Faulkenberry, Daisy Carson, and Iva Lee Headden.
