Harry Bellinger Stanfield, Jr.

Mr. Harry Bellinger Stanfield, Jr., known by many as “H.B.”, age 70, entered into rest Monday afternoon, December 7, 2020, at his home in Walterboro.   He was the loving husband of fifty years to Mrs. Patricia Almeida Stanfield who preceded him in death Saturday evening, December 5, 2020.

Born July 29, 1950, in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Harry Bellinger Stanfield, Sr. and the late Margaret Denham Stanfield.  He served our country faithfully in the United States Army and the United States Navy.   H.B. was no stranger to hard work.  He was the owner of S and B Builders in Walterboro and for a longtime was an insurance agent, having worked for several insurance companies to included American General and Independent Life.    He was a longtime believer and follower of Christ, having been a member of the Walterboro Church of God.   He enjoyed playing golf as well as poker.

Surviving are: his children, Christopher Michael Stanfield of Walterboro, Margaret S. Craven of Walterboro, Harry Bellinger “H.B.” Stanfield of Walterboro, Joseph Allen Stanfield (Teresa) of Ocala, Florida, and Melissa S. O’Quinn of Summerville; four grandchildren, Matthew Craven, Kimberly O’Quinn, Tasha O’Quinn and Thomas Craven.  There is a large and extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins to include Morgan C. Thomas (David) and Amanda C. Cromer (Cole).  He is also survived by a brother, Frankie Stanfield of Savannah; and two sisters, Della Robertson of Walterboro and Patricia Utsey of Walterboro.

His funeral service as well as those of  his beloved wife, will be conducted 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon, December 9, 2020, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The Reverend Daryl Hunt and Pastor James Baker officiating.   Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Churchyard, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.
