Mr. Harry Zachary Pappas, 84, of Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Tuesday morning, March 30, 2010, at his residence under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice. He was the husband of the late Erna Kraecher Pappas.
Mr. Pappas was born October 12, 1925 in Queens, New York and was a son of the late Harry and Anna Pappas. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Pacific Theater and was the retired owner of Harrys T.V., a repair service he successfully operated in Florida for many years. He was of the Evangelical Lutheran faith and was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge in Salt Lake City, Utah and after moving to the Walterboro area moved his membership to Unity Masonic Lodge No. 55, Ancient Free Masons. He will be remembered as an avid sailor and for his love of golfing and bowling.
Surviving are: his son, Harry Hank Pappas of Walterboro; and a brother, Paul Pappas of Allentown, Pennsylvania. There is one grandson, Zachary Pappas and his wife Nadia of Minneapolis, Minnesota; as well as two great grandchildren, Paisley and Thea Pappas.
