Harry E. Padgett

Mr. Harry E. Padgett, 77, of Ruffin, entered into rest Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2025, at his residence.

Born November 11, 1948 in the Moselle community of Islandton, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Monnie Lee Padgett and the late Edy Sauls Padgett. He worked as a inside machinist and valve repair technician and was a member of Ruffin Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Walterboro Lodge No. 1988. Harry was an outdoorsman who very much enjoyed the simple life. He enjoyed camping at our area beaches and at Santee.

Surviving are: his wife of forty-five years, Mrs. Virginia Dean Breedlove Padgett; two children, Jill Padgett Ogden and Dusty Padgett (Kathie); and three grandchildren, Samantha Brooke Padgett, Brittany Cook, and Brandon Cook. He was preceded in death by a son, Jody Conrad Padgett; and two brothers, Norman Padgett and Jimmy Padgett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2025, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will visit with friends following the funeral service.
