Harriett Strickland

Ms. Harriett Adrine Strickland, 80, of Ehrhardt, entered into eternal rest Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2024, at Lowcountry Assisted Living in Ehrhardt.

Born December 19, 1943, in Bamberg, she was a daughter of the late A.L. Strickland and Cleo Carter Strickland.  She retired from Bamberg County Department of Social Services and had also worked for Brooker Hardware in Denmark.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  Harriett loved working in her yard and growing her flowers and especially loved going on trips to the beach and the mountains yearly with her cousins and friends. She was an excellent cook and everyone especially loved her cakes.  Most of all she loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are: her children, Rhonda Mixon and her husband Michael of Bamberg and Chris Morrell and his wife Margaret Lynn of Bamberg; grandchildren, Kristen Caulder (Daniel), Kasey Marion (Keith), Marlin Morrell, and Daniel Morrell (Destyne); great granddaughter, Lyla Kay Caulder; brother, Rodney Strickland and his wife Jane of Summerville; as well as a host of cousins.  She was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Princess.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Lowcountry Assisted Living, 6060 Ehrhardt Road, Ehrhardt, South Carolina 29081; or to: Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, care of Evelyn Rentz, 2113 Ehrhardt Road, Ehrhardt, South Carolina 29081.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Wednesday morning, June 12, 2024, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 9781 Broxton Bridge Road, Ehrhardt.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10 am until the hour of service in the church sanctuary.
