Harriett Craven

July 15, 1927 — March 29, 2017

Mrs. Harriett Linder Craven, 89, of Walterboro, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at MUSC.  She was the wife of the late Clement Charles Craven.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Edgewood Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Born July 15, 1927 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of Lewis Linder and Margaret “Maggie” Beach Linder.  She was a retired bookkeeper from Farmers and Merchants Bank.  A true Christian woman who was strong in her faith, she was a devoted member of Edgewood Baptist Church.  She loved flowers and working in her garden, enjoyed traveling and especially going to Edisto Beach, which she called the best place on earth.  She also loved cooking for her family and friends, loved reading and working Word Search puzzles, and was a Braves baseball fan.  Most of all, Mrs. Harriett loved her Lord, always putting Him first, and loved her family dearly.

Surviving are: daughters, Julia Craven Ellis and her husband Joe of Duncan, Joanne Craven Wesner and her husband John of Jacksonville, Florida, and Joy Craven Lamb and her husband Ron of Goose Creek; grandchildren, Deann Reeves, Joey Ellis, Jacob Craven, Jennifer Carver, Jamie Shuler, Ryan Lamb, Mallory Lamb, and Riley Lamb; great grandchildren, Bailey, Xander, Sam, Raven, Evelyn, Chance, Chase, Brady, Maggie, and Avary; great great grandson, Colson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Clement Jerry Craven; and her sisters, Margaret Symynkywicz, Marion DeLoach, Lennis Ulmer, Lois Mertins and Shirley Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to her beloved church: Edgewood Baptist Church, 138 Wildwood Drive, Walterboro, SC 29488.
